London (mr). Yesterday afternoon the ten years old Oliver Twist was taken to court by Mr. Fang for pickpocketing and stealing a kerchief from Mr. Brownlow. After that Oliver got released, but the bookseller Mr. Bookworm testified the boy´s innocence.
The magistrate told reporters that he has to be strict with those boys, because pickpocketing in this town isn´t a rarity and he has also to be strict only in the interest of public safety, but he is glad that Mr. Bookworm said the truth and that the magistrate didn´t punished Oliver.
Mr. Bookworm told a reporter that everyone could see that Oliver wasn´t a pickpocket, but a poor lost soul. He added that he put this orphaned boy up until he had recovered.
